Aerolíneas Argentinas will press charges against COVID-19 positive travelers attempting to board flights
Aerolineas Argentinas reported today that it will press criminal charges against engers who try to evade health controls, forge documentation or show up to fly while testing positive for COVID-19. The measure was announced by the president of the company, Pablo Ceriani, via Twitter.
“Less than a week ago we resumed the regular operation of Aerolineas and, although it seems difficult to believe, we have had two cases of engers who showed up to fly with a COVID-19 POSITIVE certificate. Attending to this situation, we want to state that any enger who shows up to fly with a positive COVID-19 certificate or with forged documentation to evade the controls, will be criminally prosecuted and will not be able to board any of the company’s flights for 5 years.
Likewise, the inclusion in our deny-boarding watchlist for 5 years will also apply to those engers who do not have the negative PCR certificate to enter those provinces that require it, and refuse to take the test at the airport of destination.»
Besides the PCR negative test engers are requested to show the documentation justifying the necessity to travel mandated by decree 792/2020, as inter-jurisdictional movement is restricted to essential workers or those who must perform medical treatments. Likewise, engers must check the specific requirements of each destination and must comply with them as a condition to board the aircraft.
Aerolineas Argentinas reaffirmed that is requesting maximum collaboration and appeals to the goodwill of travelers, but it will not fail to act firmly with those who compromise the safety of the rest of the engers or its own personnel.
